NRN for prosperous Nepal?? and Global conference

admin October 14th, 2007

NRN Global Conference BannerI was going throught the news today and was happy to read that Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) has expressed commitment to transform Nepal into a prosperous country within a decade if the government and the political parties create a conducive environment for investment.

It’s really a good thing to hear from NRN but the thing is “NRN is talking about prosperous Nepal but NRN itself is not following the Non Resident Nepali (NRN) bill passed by Legislature Parliament, so the organisation which don’t follow the bills and laws, dreams of prosperous Nepal.” It’s really surprising.

The bill defined NRN as those Nepalese living in foreign land for more than two years but the NCC of the country where I am living (Singapore) is full of New Nepali Faces in Singapore who even haven’t been abroad for a year. I don’t know about other countries but in Singapore the NCC is completely political from what I hear as besides those in the committee no one knows them. They only have their internal meeting and forgets about other Nepalese and expatriate living here in Singapore for many years. Similary the so called committee hasn’t still revealed how many delegates they have sent for the global conference to represent Nepalese in Singapore and if they have sent any  then are the real eligible NRNs? I guess its the same in other countries, so the main agenda for Continue Reading »
